The school established the library in 1993 with a sizeable collection of books to promote a culture of reading and learning among students. Over time, as the institution recognized the growing importance of a well-equipped library, efforts were made to enhance its resources and infrastructure. Soon after the appointment of a dedicated full-time librarian, the library began to expand rapidly, both in terms of its collection and physical space.
What initially started as a small, dark corner at the back of the building soon transformed into a well-lit, air-conditioned, and spacious facility. Today, it houses an impressive collection of approximately 20,000 books, covering a wide range of subjects and genres, along with a vast assortment of magazines and newspapers to keep students and faculty informed about current affairs. To ensure security and proper monitoring, the library is also equipped with CCTV surveillance, making it a safe and organized space for reading and research. Additionally, a well-furnished reading room is available adjacent to the library, providing students and teachers with a quiet and comfortable environment for focused study and intellectual engagement.
With the ongoing modernization efforts within the school, the introduction of an advanced E-Library is no longer just a distant dream but a near reality. This digital transformation will revolutionize the reading experience, providing students and teachers with instant access to a vast repository of online books, research materials, and educational resources. The implementation of the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) project will further encourage a reading culture, allowing students to immerse themselves in books at the sound of a bell, fostering a lifelong habit of reading and learning.
To ensure that students make the most of these resources, they are required to visit the library twice a week as part of their academic routine. Teachers, on the other hand, have the privilege of unlimited access, enabling them to use the library's resources for lesson planning, research, and personal enrichment at any time during the school day.period.
