DAV Public School, Berhampur, was established under the aegis of the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, in 1989. Having set a benchmark as a reputed English-medium school in the city, it has achieved tremendous growth and success since its inception. The school is known for its continuous efforts and dedication to fostering the development of smart, well-mannered, and accomplished students each year.
DAV Berhampur supports and encourages students to strive for academic excellence while also pursuing a holistic learning experience that promotes personality development and leadership qualities.
The school was inaugurated on 15th February 1989 and began conducting classes on 7th March 1989 in a small rented house in Hilpatna, with 200 students and only seven staff members. With the cooperation of its dedicated staff and the support of the committed members of the local managing committee, along with a hardworking and passionately involved principal, the school soon grew from strength to strength. In 1990, it was relocated to a spacious, well-ventilated rented building at Gandhi Nagar, Berhampur.
In 1997, the school shifted to its own campus at Sadanand Vihar, Gosaninuagaon. It was subsequently affiliated with C.B.S.E. in 1998, and the Senior Secondary Section was introduced in 2008.
With each passing year, the school has continued to uphold its legacy of providing quality education and instilling ideal values in its students. Today, it proudly accommodates around 3000 students and 150 teaching and non-teaching staff members and owns a 4-acre campus at Sadanand Vihar, Gosaninuagaon, Berhampur.
The school envisions achieving excellence in education by developing self-disciplined, confident, and healthy individuals with a strong sense of national pride. It is committed to delivering high-quality education both academically and non-academically. The school takes pride in its enviable infrastructure, which continues to develop in phases within an unpolluted, serene environment—truly a hub of education amidst greenery.
