Principal's Message
Dear Members & Associates of the DAV family,
With Great Pride & Privilage, I share this news with you that we have completed exactly 29 years on 14th Feb 2018, the day of Shivratri, the holy day of Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati’s Bodhotsav, DAV Berhampur stands on the threshold of its 30th year of establishment w.e.f 15th Feb 2018. Virtually from a non-entity on 14th Feb 1989, today DAV Public School is a force to reckon with, amongst the educational institutions at Berhampur.
The session 2018 – 19 holds a lot of importance for us at DAV Public School, Berhampur. As a student, you are a proud DAVian, as teachers we feel honoured and reverred, as Parents you are happy, as wellwishers you are keen to see it develop still further.
Having touched the pinnacles of glory with its Academic Results in the Outstanding Category of DAV Institutions, Pan India, honoured with the National Teachers’ Award 2013, Prime Ministers’ Shield Award 2012, Rajiv Gandhi Pratibha Puraskar, National School Sanitation Award 2011, National Award for Vivekananda School of Excellence, National Level NCC Scholarships, Sanskrit Scholarships, CBSE Girl Child Scholarships, Sports Scholarships and more recently, National Karate and International Taekwondo Championship Medals in our Kitty, we are humbled and yet extremely extremely, proud of our School and its achievements.
The Tricennial Celebrations will see a lot of year long activities in the School leading to a befitting end of successful completion of 30 years on 14th Feb 2019. So, you will see this year, celebrating the writing talents, poetic talents, search for truth and emotional well being, “Overflow of your powerful feelings”-through these write ups of students in various inter and intra school competitions.
Like 10th year as Decenninal and 25th year as Silver Jubilee Year, 30th year (Tricennial) is known as Pearl Anniversary. Pearl is known for its purity, smoothness of texture and perfection in well rounded shape. Taking clues from that, I look forward to you, my students, developing purity of thought, purity of action, and purity of efforts in all that you do and develop a perfect well balanced personality in all aspects of your life. You need to be symbols of perfection and at the “Top of the World” always & incidentally, that begins with your achieving academic excellence as a Topper in the class. In order to be a Class Topper academically, one must develop a good speed in Reading and Writing fluently in all the three languages- English, Hindi, Odia / Sanskrit. Learn things with understanding. Lay emphasis on self study- RWRSS should be the success Mantra(RWRSS-> Reading,Writing,Recicing and Self-Study).
Respect your parents and request them to explain the text and concepts to you once again at home. (So that your learning becomes permanent). Understand how each aspect of your learning helps you in life and you will never forget your concepts learnt during your school life. Remember, good habits learnt at School also stay with you lifelong, to help you become good citizens. Go ahead find your own world with ceaseless efforts, shine like pearls, show your talent to the world, create your own space and reach pinnacles of glory
Finally, all said and done, it is your own effort, your own struggle that will let you come out of the cocoon of your childhood and ignorance and make you ready for a colourful and vibrant flight like a butterfly…!!!
